Impacts of the Tech Act

The Assistive Technology Act (also referred to as the Tech Act) has increasingly become a major legislative function of inclusive education.  Use your course text and two scholarly articles in the Ashford Online Library to read and review information about the Assistive Technology Act.

Step 1: Create a 20-slide PowerPoint or Prezi presentation (excluding title and reference slide) that includes:

 

  1. Provide a description of the Assistive Technology Act and its impact on the field of education.
  2. Assess the current state of the Assistive Technology Act and what influences the act is having on students with disabilities. 
  3. Explain your position on fostering assistive technology to provide full inclusion of students with disabilities in education, employment, daily activities, and in their communities.
  4. Evaluate how the Assistive Technology Act will impact changes to your teaching and learning.

 

Step 2: Using your slides from Step 1, record and share your presentation using Jing and in one or two recordings limited to five minutes each, deliver a professional presentation of the slides/information that you have gathered about the Assistive Technology Act.

Keep in mind that your presentation must be professional. The presentation must include passages of the Act that you are references and any examples that would strengthen the discussion of the topics. Make sure to include the link(s) to your recordings and the 20 slide PowerPoint or Prezi presentation to submit for evaluation. You must also have a title and reference slide, formatting according to APA guidelines
