It centers on the set of purposes linked to multiple interpretations and meanings. Usually, quantitative research designs focus on the set of purposes that are connected to objectivity. When performing a study utilizing a quantitative research design, the type of research I would employ is survey research. Survey research is often used to acquire information surrounding interrelations, distribution, and prevalence of phenomena within a population (Polit & Beck, 2017). Notably, survey research depends on the information provided by the participants.Survey research is advantageous because of its broad scope and flexibility. The analysis can be employed on many populations, centered on a wide range of topics, and the collected information can be utilized for many purposes (Polit & Beck, 2017). However, data collected through survey research can be relatively superficial because it does not profoundly investigate human complexities.I would also employ survey research because it often focuses on what individuals do. For instance, how they care about their health. In some situations, the survey research can focus on what individuals plan to do, such as the health screenings that they are planning to do.The survey research data can be collected in different ways. The methods that I can prefer to use include personal interviews, telephone interviews, and questionnaires. The methods often play a significant role in collecting sufficient data in survey research.A personal interview, also known as a face-to-face interview, is the most respected method. It requires the interviewers to meet physically with the respondents. Therefore, I would prefer personal interviews because of the quality of information associated with it.QD2. A couple presents to the OB-GYN office you work at visibly agitated. After trying to have a baby for years, they just suffered their fifth miscarriage after the 10th week of gestation. Recently, the woman was diagnosed with antiphospholipid syndrome. You learn their agitation is due to a disagreement they have. The wife would like to adopt, but the husband feels strongly that they should continue to try for another baby.If the couple asked your opinion, as a nurse with a thorough understanding of antiphospholipid syndrome, what would you tell them? How would you as the provider remain impartial in allowing the couple to decide what is best for them?Yirlem Answer:I would tell the couple that antiphospholipid syndrome is responsible for recurrent miscarriages. In other words, the condition instigates the development of antiphospholipid antibodies that impact the cells of the womb. As a result, there is a high likelihood that the baby may not receive enough blood supply leading to miscarriage.Other than pointing the common cause for their frustrations in getting a child, I will also inform the couple about the available interventions for their problem. I will point out the need to put the female partner on anticoagulant or antiplatelet medication daily to reduce the chances of blood clots (Rodziewicz & D’Cruz, 2020). The embrace of the above solutions may lead to positive outcomes since the baby in the womb will develop in a normal trajectory. One of the ways that I can stay impartial and let the couple make a decision that suits them best is by avoiding a judgmental stance. Through this approach, I will create an environment whereby the clients can pick the option that fulfills their desires. I will also be sensitive to their needs and only offer needed explanations to bolster their understanding.
