shame free environment

I really like how you brought up a shame free environment.  I had not thought of that perspective.  I am sure the feelings that both the primary caregiver and the elderly mother could be determined to be shame.  The elderly woman might feel shame at not being able to care for herself anymore as well as the primary caregiver may feel shame over resentment she may feel.
