Question #1

Leadership relates to a case where an individual or a team that works to influence others in performing given tasks. The act of leading involves motivation in presenting ideas that drive others into action. Followership covers the other end of leadership and encompasses those who are being led and influenced (Whitehead, Weiss & Tappen, 2004). Followers take the teaching of the leader as a guide to handle their given tasks.

Question #2

Becoming an effective follower is not only important to the work at hand but also to oneself. The art of being a follower creates a foundation for teamwork and a unity of purpose (Whitehead et al., 2004). An effective follower operates along similar core values exhibited by the leader, and hence it becomes easy to get things done. A good follower also can master not only what it entails to become a leader but also leadership traits.

Question #3

My friend has leadership qualities, which I tend to think that they come about naturally. Sometime back last year, we had been given a group assignment where we both happened to be in the same group. We met for the first secession, but there emerged three subgroups, which made it hard to cooperate. My friend called the group together, citing the primary goal of the session and laid out a foundation for discussion and the group work was successful.

Question #4

I prefer transformational leadership as I believe in motivation and molarity as a call to a collective good and influencing followers from a personalized standpoint. I also think that adaptive leadership theory would also work well but could be challenging for me. This is because I lack a strong aspect of mobilizing individuals, which is a necessity in this type of leadership.
