Audiences have different perceptions, preferences, and needs. You will need to perceive as much information as you can about your intended audience. For this project assignment, you will need to describe your understanding of audience needs. In a 2-3 page paper complete the following:

  • Describe the audience who may read or benefit from the study.
  • Explain how their needs might differ. What preferences might different readers have for visualizing data?
  • Go to: https://www.eia.gov/state/. Click on the state you have been working with to reach the state level profile data. (For example, https://www.eia.gov/state/?sid=FL for Florida; you will need to change the state/territory to the home state where you live.)
  • Make note of the default map view, then change the Layers/Legend on the top right to include County Boundary and Congressional District. Make note of how this changes the view. Copy the new map and include this in your submission.
  • Go back to the default map. Change the base map at the top right to a different view of your choice. Make note of how this changes the view. Copy the new map and include in your paper.
